How do you feed a fledgling? Get some practice at this totally unique program co-produced by the DiMenna Children's History Museum and the Wild Bird Fund. In honor of the New-York Historical Society's special exhibition Feathers: Fashion and the Fight for Wildlife the Wild Bird Fund (WBF) will come to the Museum to teach us all about our neighbors with nests. Participants will see a presentation about the bird life of New York City and wild bird rehabilitation and feed a baby bird in the WBF’s care.

This program has an age restriction for the safety of the birds that will be handled and fed by children in attendance. Children must be ages five and up to feed the birds.

About the Wild Bird Fund

Each year, the Wild Bird Fund, a non-profit 501(c)(3), provides emergency care for over 1000 wild birds and animals in New York City. Working with the Center for Avian and Exotic Medicine, two veterinary hospitals across the street, the Wild Bird Fund is the central resource in NYC for wildlife emergency care and rehabilitation.

Co-presented with the Onassis Cultural Center New York as part of Birds: A Festival Inspired by Aristophanes.
