There is no additional cost to attend the film besides the price of museum admission. Due to limited space, attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase museum admission for the event here. Tickets will be sold on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

The New-York Historical Society celebrates the 75th anniversary of Madeline’s publication with Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans. This special exhibition features more than 90 original works of art by Bemelmans, including drawings from all six original Madeline books, and will be accompanied by a one-time screening of Madeline (1998) – the live-action film adaptation of the beloved storybook series. Directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer. Starring Frances McDormand, Nigel Hawthorne, and Hatty Jones.
