American Slavery Project: Unheard Voices Community Lab Writing Workshop

Sunday, November 12th from 10 am-12 pm

Free with Museum Admission (this program begins before the Museum opens for the day and has a limited capacity, pre-purchasing tickets online is strongly recommended)

Ages 12 and up with their adults

In the American Slavery Project's Community Lab Writing Workshop, participants will learn about the many African descended men, women, and children, enslaved, indentured, and free who are buried in the African Burial Ground in Lower Manhattan and create a monologue based on their lives that will then be performed by professional American Slavery Project actors.

In the process, participants will also learn about the colonial era, examine artifacts and discover contents of some of the actual graves, and engage in theatre games.

Although this event is free with Museum admission, pre-purchasing tickets online in advance is strongly recommended.
