Happy Hallowe’en New York City! Get dressed up and come on over to the Upper West Side’s annual spooky celebration. This year, the event will take place indoors in the special exhibition The Salem Witch Trials: Reckoning and Reclaiming and outdoors in our tented courtyard.
In the late 1600s, the word "witch" was a dangerous label, sometimes used for women who did not fit into society. Today, there are people across the world who celebrate being called a witch. Learn about Wicca, Hoodoo, Santeria, Voodoo, and more from present-day practitioners and historical interpreters.
Take a deep dive into the history of witches and explore the special exhibition. Then, join us outside to show off your costumes while playing interactive games, listening to stories, making Hallowe’en crafts, and, of course, enjoying lots of candy!
Please note that this event will be photographed for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs are likely to appear on our website.
If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let the photographer know.
